The 2026 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) ceremony was held at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, celebrating the best of African cinema.

Highlights of the evening included:

Best Picture — "Daughters of the Sun"
Best Director — Kunle Afolayan for "The Matriarch"
Best Actor — Ramsey Nouah for "Blood & Gold"
Best Actress — Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde for "Mother's Love"
Best Screenplay — Tunde Babalola for "The Crossing"
Best Cinematography — Jonathan Gogeni for "Desert Rose"
Best Original Score — Cobhams Asuquo for "Echoes"

The ceremony also featured a special lifetime achievement award presented to veteran filmmaker Tunde Kelani, who received a standing ovation from the audience.

Nollywood dominated the ceremony, taking home 12 of the 20 categories.
